Install FlowSend and send your first email

TL;DR
  • Install FlowSend from the Shopify App Store ($1 for your first month, 500 free lifetime actions).
  • Connect your SMTP in Settings, then verify credentials and send a test email.
  • Create an email template, then add the FlowSend Send email action to any Flow workflow.

1. Install the app

Open FlowSend on the Shopify App Store and select Install. Approve the permissions and choose a plan. New stores start at $1 for the first month and get 500 free lifetime email actions.

2. Connect your mail server

In FlowSend, open Settings → SMTP Configuration and enter your host, port, username, password, from name and reply‑to address. Select Verify credentials, then use Send test email to check delivery.

Provider guides: Gmail, Outlook / Microsoft 365, SendGrid, any other SMTP server.

3. Create an email template

Open Email Templates, create a template and write your email in HTML with Liquid variables such as {{ order.name }}. The live preview shows the result with sample order data. See Liquid variables.

4. Add the action in Shopify Flow

  1. Open Shopify Flow and create a workflow (or edit an existing one).
  2. Choose a trigger, for example Order created.
  3. Add any conditions you need.
  4. Add the action Send email from FlowSend ‑ Flow Mail App, pick your template and recipients.
  5. Turn the workflow on.

5. Check it worked

Place a test order (or trigger the workflow another way) and open Email Delivery Logs in FlowSend. Each email shows its recipient, subject, status and time. See Delivery logs.
